High School - Grades 9 - 12
Astolot Educational Centre, high school is continuing to growing.
Semestered high school, running from September to June.
Inspected by the Ministry of Education, and are accredited.
Extended French can be offered in high school.
ratios in many classes are 5:1 for high school academic courses; art courses and healthy active living courses may have higher ratios.
Astolot students are evaluated through observation, tests, presentations and conferences. The evaluation is presented to parents at mid-term and end of term for each of 2 semesters, winter and spring.
Academic, speech, language and psychological assessments, from outside sources, are considered.
CCAC offers speech, OT and Psychological services in all public and private schools in Ontario, through the Ministry of Health at no charge to parents.
Astolot students are working within the Ontario Curriculum course content. Graduation requirements and assessment are determined by the Ministry of Education. Curriculum documents can be viewed on the Ministry website. The assessment document is "Growing Success."
Students leaving Astolot receive acceptance to universities and colleges in Canada and globally. Students have previously been awarded scholarships at Bishop's University, Carleton University, Ottawa University, and Algonquin College. Students succeed in post-secondary education with the learning and self-advocacy skills they have developed.
